As summer approaches the festival seasons begins and although it is a summer without Glastonbury there are plenty of options. When talking of festivals, many think….mud up to your knees and sleeping in tents but do not fear! Many boutique festivals are becoming increasingly popular and the larger festivals are catering to all desires, here are a selection of some of the best:
12th – 15th July 2018
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Suffolk this festival is most popular for its eclectic mix of theatre, art and comedy alongside the great line up of Musicians. This year’s musical line- up includes The Killers, Alt-J and Rag’n’Bone Man. On the comedy side Harry Hill, James Acaster and Bridget Christie will be bringing the laughs. Sadler’s Wells will perform on the dance stage, Jessie Ware’s podcast will be recorded live as well as Ed Miliband’s ‘Reasons to be cheerful’. At the festival all luxury camping options have power facilities, complimentary breakfast each morning, a private VIP bar and the chance to book a pamper session at the spa.
2nd – 5th August 2018
The festival celebrates a wide variety of performers, indulgent banquets and Michelin-starred feasts in the Oxfordshire countryside. There are many options to choose from when it comes to accommodation. If you do want to do ‘real’ camping you can chose from different sites from quiet to family camping. There are also many ‘glamping’ options from a Bell Tent, Stilt House, Tipi or Gypsy Wagon all of which benefit from hot showers and luxury loos! This year’s line-up will include Nile Rogers & Chic and Bastille on the music side with Ottolenghi and Angela Hartnett serving up banquets, as well as classes from Refinery 29 and Third Space.
2nd – 5th August 2018
Known as ‘The most colourful show on earth’ this year’s circus theme is sure to be a showstopper. Headline acts include London Grammar, Grace Jones and Plan B. This year Bestival will benefit from The Pop-Up Hotel, with options include sofas and furnishings, fluffy towels and access to the exclusive Lucky Cat bar with main stage views.
